Actors of a Persecution

Actors of a Persecution is a collective cartographic effort based on a public wiki (challengepower.info). It represents the various actors in the persecution of WikiLeaks and Julian Assange, linked together according to their relationships and potential conflicts of interests.

The map has been the product of months of collaborative effort among artists and activists accross the globe. It doesn’t pretend to exhaustivity and acknowledges that many actors are actually missing, but intends to render and make platable the dense network of powerful actors (some famous, some obscure) that cooperated to silence WikiLeaks and Assange for their effort in exposing lies and war crimes. By navigating the map, many stories emerge, like the disturbing conflict of interest of the Arbuthnot family, the role of influential think tanks and US intelligence agencies…

An interactive map can be navigated online, where every node is clickable and opens a wiki page listing details about one specific actor, along with external sources; its links being actual links in between the pages themselves.

Printed versions of the map were distributed inside of WeeklyLeaks edition #3 on the 27th of October 2021, in London in front of the court during the extradition hearing of Julian Assange..

A massive 270cm wide version was on display at NoisyLeaks! in Berlin, and distributed there as posters, in October 2022.
