“WeeklyLeaks! Get your copy!”
“HOT OFF THE PRESS!” - “JOURNALISM UNDER THREAT!” - “TRIAL OF THE CENTURY!” - “READ ALL ABOUT IT!”
This newspaper, as an intervention in the public space, aims at bringing back a contextualisation of 10 years of persecution and almost 15 years of WikiLeaks’s fight for the publication of truthful information, innovation in journalism, as well as advanced techniques of source protection. It is a call, a concrete campaigning tool, and a message of encouragement for everyone fighting for Truth and Justice.
WeeklyLeaks is a collection of valuable texts, illustrations and artworks, and shines a light on a documentary film, a radio channel, and several initiatives all aiming towards this same objective.
On September 7th 2020, the first issue of WeeklyLeaks was released – a 12 page newspaper published to mark the start of the 2nd part of Julian Assange’s extradition hearing. It was distributed in front of London’s Central Criminal Court (“Old Bailey”) where the extradition show trial was underway. The second issue of WeeklyLeaks was released on September 21st 2020, and also distributed in front of the “Old Bailey”.
